Let’s face it. Life hurts.
There is something about suffering that wakes you up to the painful reality of life. At some point, we all experience hurt and heartache, trauma or tragedy. Over time, the pressure of life can leave you feeling overwhelmed and defeated.
You are not alone.
Life threw us a curveball when I was diagnosed with a progressive autoimmune disease that can’t be cured. As a young married couple we were forced to figure out a new normal. I know what it’s like when life doesn’t go the way you plan. I know how it feels to be paralyzed by trauma, overwhelmed by anxiety, burdened by depression, and plagued by pain.
You can’t always avoid, escape or fix your pain. But you can flourish in the midst of it.
Life is good because God is in it. Jesus makes it possible for us to be faithful and fruitful regardless of circumstance. God can transform your life and bring wholeness and healing to your soul. He is not cold or distant, but personal and near. You are not forgotten but deeply loved. God still has a good plan for your life. You are not walking on this earth by accident.
Life may not turn out the way we expect but there’s one thing I know for sure: God is good, He is in control and He can be trusted.
There is still hope when life feels hopeless.
It takes a village.
