Meet Rachel

Meet RachelWelcome friend! I am so glad you are here!

Writing is life to my soul. From my very first encounter with tragedy, my pen quickly became my medium for questioning, processing, doubting, hoping, trusting and believing.

I know what it feels like when life doesn’t go the way you planned. I’ve been paralyzed by trauma, overwhelmed by anxiety, burdened by depression, and plagued by chronic pain. I wrestle daily with an autoimmune disease and the effects of trauma and PTSD. I’m all too familiar with feeling hopeless, helpless and fearful of what the future may bring.

I may be walking wounded, but I am not alone. My God walks with me. I experience His presence in the pages of His Word, wrestling with Him on the pages of my notebook. Ironically, it is through suffering that I find greater faith.

Weakness challenges my view of strength. Grace frees me from the chains of perfectionism and people-pleasing. Pain is the crucible that teaches me how to trust, hope and heal. God brings life from death and beauty from ashes. Even the most dark and difficult times will be used for my good and His glory.

No matter what you’re going through,  you are not forgotten. You don’t have to walk this road alone. The answer to our pain in life is not a way out but a way through.

God loves you. He sees your heartache. He knows your pain. And He deeply cares about you. Your life has a purpose. Your feelings matter to Him. No matter what life looks like, He is still good and can be trusted. Lasting wholeness and healing is only found in a personal relationship with the living Jesus, the one who can restore the soul.

I share about my journey and what I’m learning on this blog. You can read more about my story here, here and here.
