Meet Rachel

Meet Rachel

Welcome friend! I am so glad you are here.

Life threw us a curveball when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and PTSD. As my world shattered, I wrestled with my faith (and decades of suppressed trauma) while learning how to walk down the road of recovery.

I know what it’s like to battle anxiety, depression, shame and chronic pain. I’m all too familiar with feeling alone, hopeless and fearful of what the future might bring.

In the valley of deep darkness, I have learned that God is not absent – He is always near. He sees your heartache. He knows your pain. And He deeply cares about you. Your feelings – your life – matter to Him.

No matter what your situation looks like, God can redeem and restore what has been lost and broken. True healing and wholeness is found in a relationship with the living Jesus. The path of healing will often include awareness of truth, setting aside what easily entangles us, and adopting a new way to live. God’s way is always life-giving – it yields a harvest of peace, joy, love and transformation. Jesus can heal your wounds and bring beauty from ashes; He offers a hope-filled future to anyone who turns to Him.

This blog is devoted to helping you find hope and healing when life hurts.

My goal is to provide a biblical framework and practical tools to help you deepen your faith, increase your personal well-being, and build endurance on difficult days.

When Your Healing Doesn’t Come

It was yellow. I had prayed for yellow. Moving day was set, our boxes were packed. A new house, a new marriage, a new job. The future was looking bright. And then it happened. Something didn’t feel quite right. Over the next few weeks my energy faltered, and my knees swelled to the size of cantaloupes. It hurt to stand,…

Finding Joy in the Midst of Pain

For many of us, the changing season ushers in a renewed sense of thanksgiving. But what happens when your season of change is marked by pain? When you don’t feel very grateful? As we approached Thanksgiving, I felt anything but thankful. A serious illness had darkened my door, filling me with disappointment and heartache over what was being lost: hopes,…
