Your Words Matter

As a published and award-winning writer, I know the transformational impact your words have on readers. You have an important message to share. But perhaps you feel stuck or intimidated about putting your words into an editor’s hands.

As a ministry assistant, I understand how tough and busy ministry life can be. You want to encourage and equip others in their faith, but you don’t want the quality of your content to suffer under the quantity of demands.

As a website owner and blogger, I know the value of creating copy that moves readers to action. You want to engage customers but fear that typos will hurt your credibility.

My job is to help your words change lives.

Whether you have a partial or completed manuscript, a notebook of ideas, educational curriculum or an inspirational website, I’ll help you take your creative work to the next level. I see editing as a collaborative partnership where I get to help you succeed and connect with readers in a relevant way.

I believe that establishing a personal connection and adjusting my approach to fit your unique style, needs, and goals contribute to a positive editorial experience. The best part of my job is the relationship I build with my clients. My style is honest and direct, yet gentle and encouraging. I’ll work hard to ensure that your message is clear, consistent, and compelling. I offer freelance editing, content analysis, and coaching services for all stages of writing so that you can focus on what you do best.

So, let me ask you…

  • Do you feel frustrated and stuck in your writing journey?
  • Do you have lots of ideas, but you’re unsure how to implement them?
  • Do you need help fixing typos, smoothing out sentences, or reshaping your content?
  • Do you wonder if your text is theologically accurate?
  • Do you want to build a powerful narrative that will connect with readers?
  • Are you feeling overwhelmed and need an extra hand?

Developing and improving content is what I do. Whether you need someone to assess your book, strengthen your story, smooth your prose, enhance ministry resources, or review web content, I can adapt to your needs and help you meet your goals.

What Others Are Saying

LORI P. – New Author in nonfiction

“I would recommend Rachel in a heartbeat. She was quick to respond, very thorough, and thoughtful in the work she did for us. She was so organized and knew what we needed to do to turn our book idea into an outline. Without her Writer’s Guide, we NEVER would have been able to narrow down our ideas and scope of what we wanted to say into a manageable book format.”

BRUCE B.Published Author | Business Consultant

“I highly recommend Rachel for her professional and organized approach to editing and content creation. Some editors provide corrections for grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Rachel does this and so much more. She encourages clarity of thought and ideas. She helped me flesh out my thoughts and clearly articulate my ideas. She asked questions, listened, and challenged my thinking. This was extremely helpful, and ultimately a much better product came out of the process.”

JUDY E. – Director of Spiritual Formation

“When we first drafted a vision for our community church women’s blog, Rachel was one of the first people to help us get started. Her insights – both practical and spiritual – were invaluable. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the topics helped us maintain excellence on our site. She served as our virtual administrator, creative director, and content editor. We never could have launched our blog without her help. I highly recommend Rachel to help you with any of your writing or editing needs.”

DANIEL G.Marketing Director

“Rachel has been a HUGE help to us with creating and editing content. She is an excellent communicator and writer, while being very detail oriented. We are lucky to have found someone like her.”

About Rachel

I’m a Midwestern editor and writer with a background in psychology and Christian ministry. Trained at Moody Theological Seminary, I’ve spent the last decade working with pastors to foster the spiritual growth of believers. As a blogger in the mental health space since 2015, I’m trauma-informed and attuned to the needs of sensitive readers. My creative work has been recognized by (in)courage, published by Zondervan, and rated #1-2 by Google Search.

Collaboration is at the heart of what I do. I’m a detail-oriented, big-picture thinker and natural problem solver. I enjoy working with writers and content creators, and I find my greatest satisfaction in helping others succeed.
